WANT TO PRESENT A WEBINAR?
We’re building a program that reflects the breadth of the profession — and we’re keen to hear from you. If you have a topic, case study or idea you’d like to share with the community, we encourage you to put it forward. Fill out the expression of interest form below.
This is just the beginning. We’re building a program that reflects the breadth of our profession — practical, relevant and driven by the people within it.
Locus Alliance is launching the Early Careers Network Mentoring Program in 2026. This program is designed to support the professional development of early career professionals in the geospatial profession by strengthening soft skills and supporting participants to shape their career direction and professional identity.
Designed to be intentionally non-technical, the program focuses on professional skills that are transferable across all roles and sectors. This means the program is relevant for participants regardless of discipline or background. That's why we're delivering the program in conjunction with the young and early careers groups from Earth Observation Australia, Australasian Hydrographic Society, Institution of Surveyors NSW, and Institution of Surveyors VIC. We aim to provide participants with new insights from a range of disciplines on industry trends, challenges, and ways of working.
The program runs from 16 June – 24 November 2026, and involves:
A virtual kick-off event to introduce participants to the program and set expectations
Five 1-hour mentor-mentee sessions, virtual or in-person, scheduled by each pairing
A virtual industry roundtable event hosted mid-program
An in-person graduation event hosted at the end of the program.
Participants
If you would like to be a Mentor, participation is FREE
If you would like to be a Mentee, participation is FREE if you are a FY26/27 member of one of the collaborating organisations, or AUD50 for non-members.
Students are encouraged to join, and should be a member of Locus Alliance (which is FREE) or a collaborating organisation. Membership will be verified and invoices will be issued prior to matching.
Expressions of Interest have been extended to 7th May 2026.
